The
development of coating materials, the testing of coatings,
paint application testing services and paint research have
had a home in the „Institut für Lacke und Farben“
in Magdeburg for half a century. Having evolved from the development
laboratory of the Magdeburg Paint Factory, the “Institut
für Lacke und Farben e.V.” and the “iLF
Forschungs- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft Lack und Farben mbH”
were and still are deeply rooted in the traditions of the
paint industry.Today both enterprises are still situated within
the walls of the former “Raßbach und Kralle”
paint factory, a founder company of the Paint Industry Association
in 1900.

to this tradition, the declared philosophy of the company
is the provision of research, development, inspection and
application testing services for industry tailored for the
industry and based on a high level of know-how gained from
in-house research activities.
